Artist statement

Art is my passion and as a Creative Expressionist I explore all mediums which I feel best reflect the expressive nature of what I see, feel, or think.  Mosaics offers me many new and non-pliable tactile mediums: rock, slate, granite, marble, glass, porcelain, ceramic and metal.  I sometimes even use plastic and shells.  I began exploring mosaics in 2022 and just did not think the art form was for me until 2023 when I discovered my niche at a BRMA meeting. My preferred technique is using close set materials that do not require grouting and adhered to a substrate with thinset, a concrete based adhesive. I love every moment of further enhancing my mosaic skills and designs.  Happy to be a mosaic artist!
