Janet Chalker simply likes to make things.  Cooking, beading, sewing, making something new out of something old all fuel her creative spirit.  She grew up near Albany, NY and was in her first art show in 8^th grade.  After moving to Forest, VA from New Orleans, LA in 2000 she began working in stained glass.  A few years ago her love of color, light and pattern brought her to mosaic classes with Dotti Stone.  She uses all kinds of materials in her mosaics and particularly likes making things that are both beautiful and meaningful.
